Upcoming Training Events

GALEFI offers an Annual Training Conference and various other courses identified as Hands-on-Training-Semiinars (HOTS). Occasionally, we will list training provided by other parties or associations if we feel they are relevant to our membership.

  • A 3-day less lethal instructor course will be hosted by the Boston, GA Police Department, December 03-05, 2024. The class will be provided by CTS Training. For additional information or registration, please use this LINK.

    This instructor level course covers the entire line of munitions manufactured by Combined Tactical Systems. Upon graduation, students will be certified to train others within their department as end users in the deployment and use of Impact Munitions, Chemical Munitions & Flash Bang devices.

    Concepts & Skills
    History of Less-Lethal Munitions, Legal Issues, Chemical Agents, 12 Gauge, 37MM & 40MM Launchers, Diversionary Devices, Use of Force, Reporting Procedures, Range Safety, Research & Trauma, Direct & Indirect Munitions, Deploying Munitions, Instructional Techniques & Technological Advancements.
     
  • The Clayton County Police Academy is hosting a Firearms Instructor Course, July 15-26, 2024 at the Larry Young Range (CCPD Range). To register or obtain additional information, please contact Chiquita Hicks at the Academy or via email at Chiquita.Hicks@claytoncountyga.gov

    80-hour Firearms Instructor Course (3-Gun Course)

    This is a course of instruction intended to teach BASIC firearms skills. Training will be conducted each day between the hours of 0800 and 1700 (unless otherwise stated in the course itinerary). The classroom and range is located at 11590 S.L.R. Boulevard, Lovejoy, Georgia 30250 (Phone: 770-477-3633). The roster is limited to the first Twelve (12) qualified registrants.

    Upon completion of this course, each student is eligible to receive specialty certification from GPOSTC as a firearms instructor where all other certifying requirements, as established by GPOSTC, have been met. Upon completion of this course, instructors will be capable of conducting all of their department’s firearm qualifications including handgun, shotgun, and patrol rifle courses.
