Our Mission
The Georgia Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors, Inc. is a non-profit membership organization with aims and purposes of providing educational services, encouraging the development of relevant training programs and criteria for Instructor Certification, and conducting an annual Georgia Firearms Instructor Training Conference. Active membership is open to those professionally engaged in firearms training of law enforcement personnel.
Our History
The organizational meeting of the Georgia Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors, Inc. took place on February 21 & 22, 1990 at Clayton State College in Morrow, Georgia. There were 80 firearms instructors from 46 different agencies at that first meeting. Larry Young, the Clayton County Rangemaster, started the meeting and was elected President and later became Executive Director.
